Eric J. Ralph's Obituary
Eric J. Ralph, age 59, of Dagsboro, DE, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born in Seaford, DE, on Thursday, April 30, 1959, son of Alberta (Hickman) Ralph and the late Henry M. Ralph.
Mr. Ralph was born and raised in Seaford, graduating from Seaford High School in 1977. Prior to his continuing his education, he was a member of the U.S Coast Guard. He attended Delaware Technical Community College where he received his certification in Automotive Technology. Mr. Ralph worked a lifelong career as an automotive technician. In early years he worked for the Showell Family Farms in Showell, MD and First State Chevrolet in Georgetown, DE. Later he worked for the Delaware State Police Troops 4 and 7 from which he retired after more than 20 years. Mr. Ralph also spent a few years as a member of the Sunoco NASCAR fuel team.
In his free time, Mr. Ralph could often be found tinkering and working on a multitude of projects. He enjoyed many sports, especially NASCAR, the Orioles and the Redskins. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping or anything outdoors. Above all, Mr. Ralph loved his family and the time spent with them. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Ralph was survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Sharon; his two sons: Zachary and Joseph, both of Dagsboro, DE; his twin brother, Ernie Ralph and his wife Cheryl of Glen Mills, PA; his nephew, Doug Ralph and his wife Emily of Glen Mills, PA; his niece, Sarah Ralph of Glen Mills, PA; his sister in law, Kimberly Hill of Eddystone, PA; his sister, Maria Hocker of Berlin MD; and his beloved dog, Missy.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Clarksville Chapel, 34874 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Ralph’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
