Emly Amanda Wilson's Obituary
Emly Amanda Wilson, age 96, of Dover, DE passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at the Country Rest Home, in Greenwood, DE. She was born on August 22, 1921 in Jaasund, Norway, daughter of the late Andreas and Gurine Ariansen.
Mrs. Wilson arrived in the Bronx, NY in 1948. She lived a few years in Pennsylvania and Chicago followed by over 50 years in Emerson NJ. She married Douglas Wilson in 1951. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker who loved to sew, knit, crochet, bake, garden and read. She was actively involved with the Ladies Church Group, Bible Study and she volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She was a sweet, easygoing, caring woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her three siblings, Arne, Gladys and Agathe. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Douglas Wilson; her children: Gail Nilsen, Daniel Wilson, Nancy Suszko and Kari DiCarlo and their respective spouses: Ernie Nilsen, Ron Dillon, Rich Susko and Tim DiCarlo; her grandchildren: Doug Nilsen, Fred Kopp, Lydia Nilsen, Marlena Kopp, Vince DiCarlo, Emmi DiCarlo, John DiCarlo, and Will DiCarlo; and her great grandchildren, Addy and Arthur Nilsen.
Services will be private.
