I'm so sorry to hear that Ellen had been sick for so long and has passed away. My mom and dad (Millie and Bill Hudson) were friends with Ellen and Russ back when we lived in Rehobeth. I have fond memories of going to visit and play with Rusty, Larry and Cindy at the house across from a cornfield. Ellen was always a fun mom.
After we moved to Savannah our families kept in touch for a few years. The last time I saw Ellen was probably 25 years ago. She still had a twinkle in her eye and was so proud of her children
I know she will be missed.

My parents , Bill and Millie Hudson, were friends with Russ and Ellen when we live in Rehoboth in the late 50’s early 60’s. My mom and Ellen were pregnant at the same time. They ended up having me and Larry a day apart and were able to share a room in the maternity ward. They remained friends even after we moved and we would visit when we were up on vacation.

I first met Ellen during the summer months when my sisters and I spent the summer with our grandparents in Dewey. She came to each Sunday School room to get the attendance and the offering. I didn't learn her name until I enrolled in 9th grade at RHS in Sep 1948. She was in my classroom. She always had a beautiful voice.
When she and I were married, we had our first sons about 8 weeks apart. I used to go visit during the day. Later Ellen, Russell and "Rusty" came to our apartment in Dewey Beach for an occasional evening visit. I knew she'd been hurt and needed help. In June 2017, I called her home and the daughter- in- law called me back. She explained Ellen's condition. She was with us longer than anticipated. As long as she wasn't pain
that was good. Ellen will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

My heart goes out to Ellen's family and her friends. She and I have been friends since we were three years old, and my fondest memories are those years when we were "playmates". just two houses apart in Rehoboth. Our friendship continued over all these years and I will miss her so much.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Ellen. She has been my neighbor for a long time! There will be sad days, especially in the summer when she would sit out on the patio soaking in the sunshine. Rest in peace Ellen, I'm glad you are relieved of your physical pain and I know that you are singing with the angels now! I wish you all beautiful memories to carry you forward and the love and support of family and friends to give you strength. Thinking of you all.
