Elizabeth A. Vojacsek's Obituary
Elizabeth A. Vojacsek, age 76 of Ocean View, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday April 19, 2019. Despite her gentle demeanor she was a strong, courageous, yet quiet fighter having survived ovarian cancer, breast cancer and multiple bypass surgery; this last cancer she had fought enough and was ready to go with God.
Elizabeth was born on February 14, 1943 in Wilmington, DE daughter of Harold (deceased ’64) and Anna (Voelkel) Donnelly (deceased ’99). Having been born on Valentine’s Day is fitting because she had the biggest, kindest heart of anyone you knew. She was a loving wife to her husband Alexander for 54 years and a dedicated mother first and foremost.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her eldest daughter Deborah. She is survived by 3 children: Shawn Vojacsek and his wife Jennifer of Elkton, MD, Matthew Vojacsek of Ocean View, DE and Katrina McCleary and her husband Ryan of Bear, DE; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. She has said “All my children were blessings” and “I think that when you see your children’s children it’s the most wonderful gift God can bless us with.” She valued and embraced even the smallest moments and joys in life. A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother she was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 35318 Church Rd., Frankford, DE 19945 where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Elizabeth’s name to The Cancer Research Institute at 29 Broadway, 4th Floor Suite, New York, NY 10006-3111 or by visiting www.cancerresearch.org.
