Elizabeth Smith's Obituary
Elizabeth Anne "Betsy" (Ask) Smith, age 54, of Georgetown, DE, died Friday, October 27, 2006, at her residence. "Betsy" was born in Wilmington, DE, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Dorothy (Whidden) Ask. She had been employed as a legal secretary in the law offices of Wilson, Halbrook & Bayard in Georgetown, DE for 34 years up until her illness. She was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Georgetown, where she participated in Bible study groups, the Altar Guild, the Hand Bell Choir and sang in the church choir. Betsy was also very active in her community where she was a member of the Georgetown Historical Society and had served as the Secretary of the organization for many years. She was an avid reader and gardner, and was a collector of antiques. She was devoted to her dog "Max".
She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Smith) Skowronski of Mount Royal, N.J. and one brother-Oliver Henry of Boulder, CO.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 30, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 10 East Laurel Street, Georgetown, DE with Rev. Anne Pruett-Barnett officiating. Friends may call on Sunday evening October 29, 2006 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE .
Interment will be in St. Paul's Episcopal Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Wesley United Methodist Church, 10 East Laurel St. Georgetown DE 19947.
