Elizabeth B. Meeker's Obituary
Elizabeth Bradley Meeker of Henlopen Acres in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, died surrounded by her family after a long illness on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE.
Mrs. Meeker, a former teacher at Washington Episcopal Day School in Maryland and Epworth Preschool in Rehoboth Beach, was a member of All Saints' Episcopal Church, King's Creek Country Club, the Rehoboth Art League and the Rehoboth Friends of the Library. She resided in Washington, DC before retiring to Rehoboth Beach in 1997.
Born in Wilmington, DE, Mrs. Meeker was a graduate of Wilmington Friends School class of 1954 and Mount Holyoke College class of 1958. Mrs. Meeker was a former member of the Wilmington and New York City Junior Leagues and the Wilmington Country Club.
Her husband, Jerome D. Meeker, a Washington attorney, died in 1974. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth (Libby) Meeker Crangle and Robert Crangle of Ashburn, Virginia, and her son and daughter-in-law, Bradley D. Meeker and Jennifer Meeker of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. She also is survived by her five granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Avenue in Rehoboth Beach, at 1 PM on Saturday, September 29th. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to All Saints' Episcopal in her memory.
