Elizabeth G. Hayes' Obituary
Elizabeth G. Hayes, age 94, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Cadbury at Lewes. She was born February 7, 1918 in Jersey City, NJ, daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Colori) Blumetti.
Mrs. Hayes moved to Delaware in 2001 from Roselle, NJ to live with her daughter. Mrs. Hayes worked early on for Western Electric in Jersey City and in 1963 started working for St. Elizabeth Hospital in Elizabeth, NJ. She retired in 1980 as Supervisor of the Medical Records Department. In her retirement years, she worked with "Greenthumb" in Elizabeth, traveled with her retiree's church group, perfected her embroidery skills, enjoyed doing word finds and loved listening to music. In 2008, she moved to Brandywine Senior Living in Rehoboth Beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, William Hayes, Sr. and by her son, William Hayes, Jr. (2006); six sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ruscansky and her husband Jack of Lewes; her son, Kevin Hayes and his wife Carol of Mountainside, NJ; her daughter-in-law, Candy Hayes of Florida; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro, DE. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Brandywine Senior Living Employees Fund, 36101 Seaside Blvd, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
