Elizabeth "Betty" R. Thompson's Obituary
Elizabeth "Betty" R. (Richardson) Thompson, age 92, of Lewes, DE, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. She was born on April 5, 1925 in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late William and Margaret E. (Dryden) Richardson.
Mrs. Thompson lived many years in Florida with her late husband, William Laurence Thompson (April 23, 1997), before moving to Delaware. In Delaware, she was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church and Choir. She was also the former treasurer of the Delaware State Federation of Women's Club and the former treasurer of the Sandy Brae Homeowners Association. In her free time, Mrs. Thompson enjoyed cross stitching, playing the piano and the organ. She was a loving wife and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her two step-daughters: Nancy T. Sanders of Scott City, MO and Carol T. Friedman of Prescott, AZ; two nieces: Janet T. McNulty of Dover, DE and Lynda D. Forenski of Wilmington, DE.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W. Fourth Street, Lewes, DE where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 North Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Thompson's name to Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W Fourth Street, Lewes, DE 19958 and the Shriners Hospital for Children, 551 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
