Eleaner Virginia Holley's Obituary
Eleaner Virginia Holley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed from this world on May 2, 2024, at her home in Bridgeville, DE, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Eleaner was born on November 4, 1946, in Frederick, MD, to the late William Huff and Rosalie (Bosley) Gue. She graduated from high school in 1964 and embarked on a career as an office manager in pediatric healthcare, where she touched the lives of many with her compassion and dedication.
Throughout her life, Eleaner was actively involved in her community, serving as a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 191. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing moments spent with family, embarking on memorable vacations, and indulging in her favorite pastimes, such as reading and occasional visits to the Dover Casino alongside her dear sister Linda.
Eleaner was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband William Holley, and her sister Linda Heimberger. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, survived by her daughter, Laurie VanBibber (Michael), sons, William J. Holley (Amy) and Daniel Holley (Kristine), three adored granddaughters, Emily VanBibber, Cali Holley, and Madison Holley, as well as two step-grandchildren, Justin and Chelsea, and two great-granddaughters.
A Celebration of Life honoring both William and Eleaner Holley will take place from 1-5 pm on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the American Legion Post 191, located at 801 Prospect Rd, Mt. Airy, MD 21771.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Healthcare, 100 Commerce Dr., Suite 302, Newark, DE 19713, in honor of Eleaner's compassionate spirit and the exceptional care she received during her final days.
Eleaner will forever be remembered for her unwavering strength, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and friends. May her gentle soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
