Eileen Lois Pallace, age 77 of Lewes, DE, passed away on October 10, 2023, at Delaware Hospice Center, in Milford. She was born on January 19, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Daniel and Edith Boyle. Growing up in Read Obituary
Mrs. Pallace was a treasure. The entire Sandlin family had the great pleasure of being either a student or colleague of Mrs. Pallace at Caesar Rodney High School. She was certainly one of my most favorite teachers and I will always think of her fondly. We are all so very sorry for your loss and are thinking of you at this difficult time. -Kati Sandlin Murphy
Dear Jack, We are so sorry for your loss. Eileen was a beautiful person and we had such fun times playing cards years ago. Our children had her for English at Caesar Rodney and liked her very much. Our prayers are with all of your familly. Pat, Dick, and family.
Eileen was a friend and neighbor. We always enjoyed meeting her for lunches or dinners & returning to her house for her delicious desserts. I still have some of her recipes. I had the honor of being one of Eileen's colleagues in CR's English department early on in my career. She was a great role model, both as a teacher and a human being. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jack, Christine and all Eileen's family and friends as they mourn her passing but also celebrate a life lived so very well.
Mrs. Pallace was a treasured teacher and neighbor to me growing up. She was as kind as she was funny and smart. Growing up, it was always a treat when her daughter, Christine, would come over to baby sit. She and Jack were always great friends to my parents and would often meet for lunch or dinner. It was always such a comfort having Mrs. Pallace only a few doors down from my house as well as in my high school. You could always count on her to have a listening ear and some sound advice. I have several very special memories of her that will be with me always. She will be missed by so many people because to know her was to love and appreciate her. My thoughts are with Jack, Christine, and their entire family as they mourn the the loss of such an incredible person.
Mrs. Pallace will always be my favorite teacher. After having Freshman English with her, I knew I needed to stay in her classroom. I spent three years there with creative writing and as her teacher’s aide, as well. She gave me confidence in my speech and writing that I know I wouldn’t have found on my own. My father, Dan Deckard, also a teacher at CR sends his condolences as well. We found many a reason to go to 3rd wing 2nd floor. I’d say hi to Mrs. Pallace. He’d be next door at Mr. Mallory’s room. Wonderful teachers and memories.

Christine, It was a shock to read the post of your Mom’s passing. The Caesar Rodney High School was blessed to have such a loving English teacher who made such positive experiences for her students. She certainly made a difference in our 2 children’s lives. Christine, it makes me so sad that I did not know about her fight against cancer. It is comforting to know that Ken and your mom will spend some heavenly days together along with many others whom she helped at CRHS along the way. At those parent nights, I remembered how welcoming she was to everyone who attended! Most of all she will be seriously missed by your family and hundreds of friends and colleagues.
