Edwin Burton Pittard's Obituary
Edwin Burton Pittard, age 98, of Georgetown, DE, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Delaware Veterans Home in Milford, DE. Mr. Pittard was born September 28, 1910 in Harrington, DE.
Mr. Pittard enjoyed a long career of more than 40 years with Scott Paper Company retiring from a management position. Mr. Pittard served with the U.S. Army during World War II attaining the rank of Corporal. He was a member of the Georgetown VFW Post #2931 and Georgetown Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Reba E. Pittard (1995). He is survived by his step-son Richard Eudy and his wife Susan of Laurel, DE; his step-daughter Donna Jean Eudy of Hamburg, PA; a former daughter-in-law Judy Partyka and her husband Alex of Georgetown; three step-grandchildren: Angelique Lord and her husband John of Dover, DE, Meghan Eudy and Erin Eudy both of Laurel; and one step-great-grandson, Alex Lord.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private at Union Cemetery, Georgetown. (www.parsellfuneralhomes.com)
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Georgetown Presbyterian Church, 203 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE 19947.
