I’m so sad to read the news of the passing of Mr. Connor. He and Mrs. Conner were my second parents in my early childhood growing up on Brooklyn Avenue in Laurel. Their home was filled with all the things a young girl could wish for. Love, laughter, dolls, games, and hiding places. When I would spend the night, Mr. Conner would bring us ice cream sodas from the pharmacy after closing the store. We knew after our treat it was bedtime. I would visit Joy and Wendy occasionally at the beach house. I remember Mr. Conner taking us to the beach and letting us run along the shoreline telling us not to get wet. I invariably did. There were Italian ices from the boardwalk to enjoy in the evening hours. Mr. Conner was always a gentleman but he could get angry. I didn’t understand until I was older why we couldn’t climb the tree over the picket fence. The fence after all helped us get up it.🫤 Rest in peace Mr. Connor beside your beautiful wife. You are well remembered. ❤️ Hugs to Sandy, Karen, Joy, Wendy, and all the family as you say your goodbyes. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. 🤗🤗🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
