Edward P. Steckler's Obituary
Edward P. Steckler, 79, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away Tuesday Feb. 5, 2008 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE. He was born on May 13, 1928, in York, PA , son of the late Edward R. and Hannah L. (Sanders) Steckler.
He graduated from York Catholic High School in 1946. Mr. Steckler had worked for his grandfather for many years at the Steckler Hardware Store of West York before employment as a wholesale sales representative for Fulton, Mehring and Hauser Company for 20 years. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Brethren Church near Shortly, DE. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son William Steckler in 1995 and a brother James R. Steckler. He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Wilda V. (Hess) Steckler; a brother George S. Steckler of York, PA; a sister Susan M. Burnside of York, PA; a granddaughter Peggy Manning of Akron, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Workinger-Semmel Funeral Home, 849 E. Market Street, York, PA on Friday, February 8, 11 AM , where friends may call one hour prior to services. Rev. Douglas Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, PA.
