Edward James Sabo's Obituary
A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS
Edward Sabo, age 73, of Rehoboth Beach DE, died suddenly on October 7, 2016. He was born on January 31, 1943 in Johnstown PA, son of the late, Rose (Kozma) Sabo and Edward L. Sabo. He is survived by his loving wife Martha (Marti) Marino, also of Rehoboth Beach.
Ed graduated from Johnstown High School, entered the United States Air Force soon after graduation and served in Germany as an Intelligence Analyst. After his discharge he traveled widely in Europe. After returning, he embarked on a career in residential and commercial construction in Johnstown, Washington D.C., and Sussex County, DE. He was the sole owner of EJS Construction.
Ed lived his life to the fullest and pursued his many interests with passion and a quest for knowledge. In his professional life as a general contractor and builder, he was known for his fine craftsmanship, attention to detail, and for finding creative solutions to structural problems. This creativity and passion were applied to all aspects of his life whether it was finding the perfect pie crust recipe, the right bait for the right fish, the best place for a tree stand, a solution to the whodunit he was reading or watching, spotting and identifying the odd bird in a flock, or finding his wife's misplaced glasses. The rapid completion of a crossword puzzle was another challenge he enjoyed. Everything undertaken had to be done to the best of his ability. No shortcuts were allowed.
Ed had strong opinions on a wide variety of subjects that he loved to share with others. He was a loyal, generous, and unique individual. He was his wife's best friend and will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be private. A Celebration of Ed's life will be held in his home later this fall.
