Edward P. Pavelko's Obituary
Edward "Ed" P. Pavelko, age 78 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, died on September 26, 2018, at Beebe Medical Center, in Lewes, Delaware.
Born March 17, 1940 in Northern Cambria, (formerly Barnesboro) Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Anthony and Suzanna (Semian) Pavelko.
Following graduation from high school, Ed attended classes at the University of Maryland while working in Washington DC. He later joined the Maryland National Guard where he served for six years. He had a career that spanned 30 years at American Standard Bank, while being concurrently employed at A&P Supermarket. Ed also served as Board Treasurer for the Washington Animal Rescue League.
In retirement, Ed enjoyed the company of many dear friends, traveling domestically and abroad, and visiting his family. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his partner, Bill Prusak; his brothers: Joseph, Anthony, Stephen, Frank, and Cyril Pavelko; and his sister, Helen Burns (née Pavelko).
He is survived by his sisters: Anne Oliver of Wilmington, North Carolina, Margaret Jones of Deckerville, Michigan, and Mary Drahnak of Hastings Pennsylvania; his sister-in-law, Mary Beth Pavelko of Milton, Delaware; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed’s request to be interred without ceremony on his parents’ grave in Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania is being honored by his family.
