Edward F. McGehrin's Obituary
Edward F. McGehrin, age 87, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware passed away peacefully on February 2, 2018 in Lewes, DE. He was born on April 28, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA., son of the late Edward and Florence McGehrin.
Ed and his wife Frances (R. Connor) raised their family of 8 in University Park, Maryland and moved to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware in 2002. Ed proudly served his country in the U.S Navy, served on the board of trustees for his alma mater, Villanova University, and had a distinguished career as an investment advisor with Johnston Lemon & Company and Merrill Lynch. Ed was an active Rotarian with College Park and Greenbelt Rotary.
Ed is survived by his son Patrick McGehrin (Vicki) of Lewes, DE, daughter Kathleen Van Dyck (Chuck) of Alexandria, VA, daughter Peggy McGehrin Kelly of Rehoboth Beach, DE, son Michael McGehrin (Karen) of Billings, MT, son Martin McGehrin (Joanne) of Upper Marlboro, MD, daughter Marianne McGehrin Rhine of Rehoboth Beach, DE, brothers, Tom (Betty) and George (Marianne) McGehrin and sister, Theresa (Edward) Signell. Ed was predeceased by his loving wife Frances, two children Ann and Timothy McGehrin and grandson Brendan Kelly. Ed is survived by 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday February 17, 2018 at 12:00 PM at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, where friends may visit beginning at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Center for Children, Youth & Families, 4901 Eastern Ave., Hyattsville, MD 20782.
