Edward Edmund Lopez's Obituary
Edward Edmund Lopez, age 78, of Lewes, DE passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, PA. He was born on September 25, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Ermillo Edward and Lydia (Frasco) Lopez.
Mr. Lopez with his family lived in Mantua, NJ for 40 years, where he worked for 37 years at Union Local #19, retiring as a Journeyman. In 2000, he retired to Delaware where he would spend time gardening and working on home projects. He was a craftsman at heart who enjoyed improving and enhancing his home. Mr. Lopez and his wife were long time members of Mill Pond Acres Civic Association, which they helped to establish.
Mr. Lopez is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Florence T. (Gamble) Lopez, two sons, Edward Lopez, Jr. and his wife Judy of Linwood, NJ and Vincent Lopez and his wife Honora of Williamstown, NJ; three daughters: Christine Hand of FL, Carol Lockman and her husband Les of Woodbury, NJ and Deborah Hirleman and her husband Tom of Groesbeck, TX; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Lopez's memory to a local Hospice, Food Bank or Animal Shelter of your choice.
