Edward B. Legenski's Obituary
Edward B. Legenski, Sr. age 81, of Lewes, DE, died suddenly on Monday, March 12, 2012 in Lewes. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 2, 1930, son of the late Benjamin Legenski and Margaret (Savegeau)Goodwin.
Mr. Legenski enjoyed a long career with the United States Postal Service working in Wilmington, Delaware. He relocated to Lewes in 2010 where he was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict; he was a member of the Rehoboth Beach VFW Post 7447 and American Legion Post #28.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Katrowski) Legenski and his son Edward B. Legenski, Jr., both in 2011. He is survived by four children: Barbara A. Rouin and husband Marc of Bellmawr, NJ, Patricia Cappello and husband Anthony of Hurt, VA, Stephen Legenski, of Bellmawr, NJ and Victoria Legenski of Vineland, NJ; step-sons: Anthony Katrowski and wife Annmarie of Wilmington, DE and Martin Katrowski and wife Joanne of Wilmington, DE; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry Goodwin of Harrisonville, MO; four sisters: Mary Ann Munyon of Pitman, NJ, June Stoughton of Upper Strausburg, PA, Eileen McHenry, of Bensalem, PA and Patricia Keller of Centerview, MO; and his devoted dog friends: Max, Daisey, Rommel and Buster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 23, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE; there will be no calling hours. Entombment with military honors will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Home Of The Brave Foundation, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.
