Edward Lee Howell's Obituary
Edward Lee Howell, age 84, of Bridgeville DE, was received by our Lord on October 1, 2014 surrounded by his family. Edward was born November 2, 1929 in Bethlehem MD. He was the son of the late Herbert Frederick Howell and Mary Elizabeth (Collison) Howell. Loving, hardworking and selfless, he will be remembered for his firm guidance, kind heart and understanding smile.
Edward married Anna Mary (Simpers) on February 5, 1965. He worked in construction his whole life and ran his own business, E & H Dosing Chambers LLC, for 25 years. Edward was devoted to his work and even more so to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. To his family and friends he was known as “Pop“. Every penny went to his family, he would just smile and say all he needed was love, and he got plenty of that. He enjoyed watching old westerns, John Wayne was his favorite. He loved to laugh and joked every chance he could. He loved life and lived it to its fullest. He wasn’t perfect but he was perfectly loved and his whole family rejoices knowing they’ll see him again in heaven.
Edward is survived and dearly missed by his wife Anna Mary (Simpers) of Bridgeville, DE; son, Anthony E. Richardson and his wife Debbie of Bridgeville, DE; daughter, Joyce M. Lord and husband Brian of Felton, DE; son, Edward L. Howell Jr. of Bridgeville, DE; daughter, Lea Anne Schmitt and husband Greg of Secretary, MD; daughter, Kimberley T. Calvanesa and husband Mark of Bridgeville, DE; son, John L. Nolan Howell and wife Stacey of Bridgeville, DE; seven grandsons, ten granddaughters, eleven great grandsons, and fourteen great granddaughters; sister, Martha West; and brother Milton Howell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Claude, and Russell; his sisters Helen, Emily, Gladys, and Mary; and granddaughter Virginia Richardson.
A Viewing will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE 19933. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE 19933. Interment will immediately follow in Bridgeville Cemetery.
