Edward E. Clark's Obituary
Edward Eugene Clark, Sr., age 90, of Lewes, DE, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 18, 2009. . He was born September 8, 1918 in Louisville, KY, son of the late Isodore and Sarah (Langley) Clark.
Mr. Clark enjoyed a long career of 30 years with the Hecht Company in Washington, DC from which he retired in the late 1970's as a Jr. Executive. Mr. Clark had served with the US NAVY and in the Naval Reserve from 1935 to 1946. He had also served as a pilot with the Flying Tigers. He was a member of American Legion Post #28, Oak Orchard and VFW Post #7447, Rehoboth Beach. He proudly served as a member of the District 4 Honor Guard. Mr. Clark enjoyed taking Veterans to the VA Hospital for their appointments, working on anything electrical and generally helping people who were in need. He was a family man who was devoted to his loving wife of 63 years, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife Mary (Greenwell) Clark;a son Gene Clark and his wife Martha of Gambrills, MD;a daughter Joan Davis and her husband Chip of Lewes, DE; 4 grandchildren, Gordon Davis and wife Carri of Lewes, Suzy Close and husband Milton of Gambrills, Cindy Arnold and husband Frank of Manchester, MD and Angie Davis Whitten and husband Bryan of Frederick, MD; 5 great-grandchildren, Autumn Davis of Lewes, DE, Brandon and Ashley Close of Gambrills, MD, Jake Arnold of Manchester, MD, and Jamie Whitten of Frederick, MD.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 22, 2009, 11:00 AM, at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, DE, Route 1 North of Five Points, Lewes, DE. where friends may call at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Entombment with military honors will follow the services at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes, DE. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Legion Post #28, 31768 Legion Drive, Millsboro, DE 19966.
