Edward "Eddie" C. Creadick's Obituary
Edward "Eddie" C. Creadick, age 84, of Lewes, DE passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, DE. He was born on April 15, 1930 in Lewes, DE, son of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Phillips) Creadick.
Mr. Creadick was raised in Lewes, DE and attended the town's schools until he graduated from Lewes High School in 1948. During his high school years, he enjoyed participating in many sports including basketball and baseball. Following his graduation, Mr. Creadick worked for years as a milk truck driver for the local dairy. In 1949, he was hired by the DuPont Chemical Company in Seaford, DE from which he retired after 36 years in 1985. However, Mr. Creadick wasn’t ready to fully retire just yet. He ventured on to work as a bus driver for Lewes school district as well as a courier for Beebe Hospital. On the side, Mr. Creadick also enjoyed cutting grass for neighbors around town and took much pride in his own immaculate lawn.
Mr. Creadick was a very community minded individual who was a Life Member of Lewes Fireman Department and received Firefighter of the year for 2011 from the Sussex County Volunteer Firefighter's Association. He was an active parishioner of Bethel United Methodist Church, a Board member of Bethel Methodist Cemetery and a member of Lewes Men's Chorus. He was also a long time member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon and a member of the Jefferson Masonic Lodge of Lewes. Not only did Mr. Creadick participate in many organizations, he was also a long time Santa Clause for the town of Lewes and the local churches.
Eddie was a social character who never met a stranger. He could be found cruising around town on his scooter or busy sweeping the sidewalk in front of the Bride and Groom trees. Eddie loved the Phillies; the baseball team and the cigars, having his picture taken, and being a part of the Lewes Community. He will be remembered around the neighborhood for his infectious smile that he shared with everyone.
Most importantly, Mr. Creadick loved spending time with his family and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
MMr. Creadick is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth "Betty" O.
