Edna H. Agnew's Obituary
Edna H. Agnew, age 88, of Salisbury, MD passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. She was born in Washington, D.C. on January 27, 1923; daughter of the late Joseph Lester and Viola (Meade) Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Agnew in 1992.
Mrs. Agnew spent her last years in Salisbury, MD, but was a longtime resident of Lewes after retiring from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Elizabeth Circle. She was formerly a member of the First Town Club of Lewes. She was awarded recognition from the Kiwanis Club of Wilmington for her outstanding service to Meals on Wheel s in Delaware, and enjoyed the time she spent as a volunteer at Beebe Medical Center as a member of the Women’s Auxiliary.
Mrs. Agnew is survived by one daughter, Darla N. Morres and her fiancé, Mark Heinle of Washington, VA; two sons: James Smith and his wife Lorraine Frye of Toronto, Canada and Paul Wilkerson and his wife Kimberly of Owings, MD; eight grandchildren: Willow, Laurel, Tijay, Lauren, Galen, Lisa, Shelly and Brian; and ten great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 11:00 am at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins- Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:30 AM.
Interment will be private in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
