Edith E. Loetzer's Obituary
Edithe E. Loetzer, age 93, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2022, she was born in Elizabeth, NJ, on May 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Albert F. and Edith (Ricker/Riker??) Ferguson Feudale.
A resident of Rehoboth Beach since 1993, Edithe and her husband Robert previously lived in NJ where she was employed as the church secretary for the Newton United Methodist Church. After her retirement, and settling in Southern Delaware, Edithe was active in her community, and she enjoyed donating her time as a volunteer at the Beebe Medical Center and with Delaware Hospice. Edithe was highly regarded and admired for having formed the first chapter of the Red Hat Society in Sussex County. She was a faithful member of the Groome United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 17, of Lewes. Above all, she cherished spending time with those she held most dear. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Edithe will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert R. Loetzer, her sister, brother, and her grandson, Thomas White III. She is survived by her six children, Judith Kowalczyck, Russell Loetzer, Diane Byrne (Brian), Pattie Lewis (Van), Darlene Chasteen, and Douglas Loetzer (Lynn); thirteen grandchildren: five step-grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Methodist Cemetery Columbarium on Savannah Road, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Mrs. Loetzer’s memory to Groome United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 299, Lewes, DE 19958.
