Earl Marcotte's Obituary
Earl Marcotte, age 86 of Lewes, DE, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, in Philadelphia, PA. He was born on January 27, 1935 in Pawtucket, RI, son of the late Leo and Cecelia (Vandel) Marcotte.
Mr. Marcotte was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the US Air Force. He was also a member of American Legion Post 28. Mr. Marcotte enjoyed a lifelong career as an educator in New Jersey and Delaware. He also owned the former New Castle Aquarium and was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and everything coastal living had to offer. Above all, Mr. Marcotte enjoyed time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Marcotte is predeceased by his son, Thomas Jason Marcotte. He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene P. Marcotte (Grabowski) and on July 13, 2021, they would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. His daughter, Karen L. Vied (David) of Millsboro, DE; his son, Robert D. Marcotte, of Millsboro, DE. He was "Pepere" to his grandchildren: RJ Vied, Michael Vied, Thomas, Tayler, Tim, and Bobby Marcotte and 6 great grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers: Leo Marcotte (Patricia), and Ron Marcotte (Sue); and his sister. Joan Church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment with military honors will follow the services at 1:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic social distancing protocols must be observed and masks must be worn by everyone participating in any aspect of the service.
