Earl L. Hodder's Obituary
Earl L. Hodder, age 90, of Lewes, DE, formerly a lifelong resident of Bay County, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2009, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE. He was born November 17, 1918 in Fraser Township, MI, son of the late William and Erma (Brown) Hodder.
Mr. Hodder and his wife Edna relocated to Delaware in April of this year to reside with their daughter, Marne. He was a 31 year member of the Bible Baptist Church in Pinconning, MI. He enjoyed a long career with the Grey Iron Foundry Division of General Motors, Saginaw, MI, retiring in 1978. Earl was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. He served with the U.S. Navy during WW II.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Edna L. (Page) Hodder; a daughter Marlene "Marne" B. Coppinger and her husband William of Lewes; a son Robert Hodder and his wife Deborah of Ypsilanti, MI; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Drouse and her husband Larry (1991).
A Memorial Service will be held on Augsut 2, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Bible Baptist Church, 300 Arthur Street, Pinconning, MI. Interment will be at Floral Gardens, date to be determined. Arrangements was being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE (www.parsellfuneralhomes.com).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bible Baptist Church (address above) or to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
