Duane W. Van Bergen's Obituary
Duane W. Van Bergen, age 65, of Milford, DE, passed away Wednesday, December 6, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. Mr. Van Bergen was born December 21, 1940 in South Bend, IN, son of the late William and Mona Van Bergen.
Mr. Van Bergen retired from the Federal Government afer 35 years of service. He was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed deer and waterfowl hunting. He was a loving husband for 25 years and a family man. He also served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Mary L. Van Bergen; a son, Duane Van Bergen, Jr. of Glen Burnie, MD; a daughter, Carla Middleton of Annapolis, MD; three grandchildren, Kyle Middleton, Ashley Middleton, and Isabella Van Bergen; two sisters, Lorraine Kruszewski of Laurence, MI and June Weise of Memphis, TN; and a brother Mike Mahler.
A memorial service with military honors will be held Monday, December 11, 2006, 2 P.M. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE; Deacon Paul Woofter will be officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Road, Suite 202, Dover, DE 19901.
