Douglas Arthur Wilson's Obituary
Douglas Arthur Wilson, age 93, of Dover, DE (formerly of Emerson, NJ) passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019, at State Street Assisted Living, in Dover. He was born on February 5, 1926 in White Plains, NY, son of the late Douglas and Bertha (Corbin) Wilson.
Mr. Wilson proudly served in the Airborne Division of the United States Navy. He made his career as a Sales Account Manager for US Gypsum, a building supply company. He was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Westwood, NJ. He also enjoyed volunteer work at Bergen Pines Hospital in Paramus NJ and was a Hospice volunteer.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Emly (Ariansen) Wilson. He is survived by his four children: Gail Nilsen and her husband Ernest of Moyack, NC, Daniel E. Wilson and his husband Ronald Dillon of Lewes, DE, Nancy Suszko and her husband Richard of Rehoboth Beach, DE, and Kari DiCarlo and her husband Frank of Milton, GA; his brother, Donald Wilson and wife Hazel of Harrison, NY; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 3:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 2:00 PM.
Interment will be held at a later date at the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Wilson's name to the Amyloidosis Foundation, 7151 N. Main St., Ste. 2, Clarkston, MI 48346.
