Douglas Macnab's Obituary
Douglas Macnab passed away peacefully January 27th in Lewes, Delaware at the age of 92. Douglas was born in Baltimore, Md. March 18th 1925, the son of John and Helen Macnab. He grew up and lived in Baltimore, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1943 to 1946, retiring as an Ensign from the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1954. In 1949 he graduated from Johns Hopkins University later getting his L.L.B. from the University of Maryland in 1964. He married Elizabeth Davis in 1948, his wife for more than 69 yrs. They had 3 children. He was Industrial Relations Mgr for Koppers Co., retiring in 1987. Afterward he was very active as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, then moving to full retirement in Rehoboth Beach in 1997 and later to Lewes, Delaware in 2015.
Doug was a quiet man with a great sense of humor and is preceeded by his son Iain. He is survived by his wife Lib (Elizabeth); his son, Peter and his wife Suzanne, and their daughters Elizabeth and Polly; and his daughter, Susan and her husband Pedro, and their sons Pedro Iain and Douglas, all of whom he was very proud of and loved very much. They will all miss him dearly.
In keeping with his wishes, no memorial service will be held at this time. A commemoration to his life will be celebrated at a later date.
In lieu flowers donations may be made in Doug’s name to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 301 King Charles Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
