Dorothy Boyer Williams' Obituary
Dorothy Boyer Williams, age 90, of Lewes, DE, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at her residence. She was born October 13, 1918 in Wilmington, DE, the daughter of the late Martin and Blanche (Vail) Boyer.
Mrs. Williams lived in Delaware all of her life and was a Middletown High School Graduate. She retired from Bell Telephone after 25 years of service. She was an avid reader who loved gardening and was a member of the Middletown Garden Club. Her family and friends will always remember her passion for dark chocolate.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Carol B. Reed of Lewes, DE; son, Steven Williams and his wife Carole of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren: Jerry Reed and his wife Ruth of San Antonio, TX, Robin May of Millsboro, DE, and Jonathan Reed and his wife Jane of Chestertown, MD; six great-grandchildren: Megan, Catherine, Sarah, Zachary, Jordan, and Julia; and eight nieces and nephews: Ken Boyer, Chip Slaughter, Terri Slaughter Carter, Mark Slaughter, Ken Boyer, Allan Boyer, Keith Boyer, and Larry Williams. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her husband, William Arthur Williams (1987) and her four siblings and their spouses: Billi Boyer and his wife Daisy, Bob Boyer and his wife Irene, Edna Slaughter and her husband Lee, and Donald Boyer and his wife Wanda.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Dorothy's Life on Sunday, April 26, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the family home in The Plantations, Lewes. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Enterprises, Inc., Lewes, DE. www.parsellfuneralhomes.com
