Dorothy Townsley's Obituary
Dorothy Townsley, age 94, of Milton, DE passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at her residence. She was born January 22, 1916 in Yugoslavia, daughter of the late John and Anna (Borota) Zec.
Dorothy married William Townsley on August 29, 1941 in Gary, Indiana. They moved to South Bend, IN in 1943. William died on December 24, 1985 and Dorothy continued to live in South Bend until she moved to Delaware in 2005.
Surviving is her son John L. Townsley and his wife Joanne Townsley; two grandchildren: J. Andrew Townsley and Yvonne Anderson and her husband Eric;; and two great-grandchildren: Emma and Rhett Anderson.
Dorothy belonged to St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Milton. In South Bend, she was a founding member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church and participated in their Women's Guild. She also belonged to the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Eastern Star St. Joseph Chapter.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Townsley will be held Saturday, October 2, 2:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, 307 Federal Street, Milton, DE; the Rev. John Barton will be officiating.. Dorothy will be entombed next to her husband at the columbarium, Cathedral of St. James, South Bend. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church for Acolyte Attire or scholarships for acolytes to attend church camp at Camp Arrowhead or to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
