Dorothy L. Rothman's Obituary
Dorothy L. Rothman, 93, of Lewes, DE passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, DE. She was born April 8, 1918 in Shamokin, PA, daughter of the late George and Mae (Wetzel) Strausser.
Mrs. Rothman moved to Delaware in 1978 from Lansdowne, PA where she had been employed by Strawbridge and Clothier in Springfield, PA for many years. Locally she sang in the Conley Chapel Church Choir and she was a member of Groome United Methodist Church. Mrs. Rothman was very involved in her church community and as a volunteer. Her favorite volunteer work was with the Christian House, Wildwood, NJ. She was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Benjamin Rothman; a son, Michael G. Rothman and wife LuAnn of Harleysville, PA; two daughters: Darlene Charles and husband Sam of Lewes and Laura Rothman of Sicklerville, NJ; two granddaughters, Michelle and Jennifer; two great-granddaughters: Sophia and Genevieve; and her sister, Peggy Thompson of Hummelstown, PA.
Funeral services with Rev. William Hopkins officiating will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011, 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at 1:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
