Dorothy M. Quinn "Dottie"'s Obituary
Dorothy M. Quinn “Dottie”, age 95, resident of Rehoboth Beach and Lewes, DE for the past nineteen years, went home to Jesus on Sunday, May 24, 2020. She was born on May 21, 1925 in Hartford, Connecticut, daughter of the late Mitchell and Katherine (Bury) Skinner.
She graduated from Hartford High School, Hartford, Ct. She met her husband Edward A. Quinn “Eddie” at Branford Beach, Connecticut in 1952 and they married a year later on May 2, 1953 at the Church of Corpus Christi in Wethersfield, CT. Dottie worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Hartford, CT. and again in Washington, D.C. when she relocated with Eddie.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Quinn. She is survived by her daughters: Kathy Quinn, Pattie Aronson and her husband Dennis, and Marie Morrison and her husband Jim; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Conley and David Aronson both of Boston, MA, Ben Aronson of Atlanta, GA, Allison Aronson of Philadelphia, PA, Christopher McNeil of Glenelg, MD, Anne Marie McNeil of Milwaukee, WI, and Alex McNeil of Frederick, MD.
She is further survived by her sister Teresa Vardion, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Dorothy was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, DE. She touched the lives of many with her warm smile, kindness, humor, and feistiness.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, Dorothy's life will be celebrated by Deacon Howard League at a private Catholic graveside service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 32112 Vines Creek Road, Dagsboro, DE. Interment will follow. Friends may call on Thursday, May 28, 2020, 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
