Dorothy Loockerman's Obituary
Dorothy "Dot" Loockerman, age 85 of Bridgeville, DE, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford, DE. She was born in Bridgeville, DE, on Wednesday, July 15, 1931, daughter of the late H. C. "Dutch" and Mary (Tucker) Priestley.
Mrs. Loockerman married L. William, the love of her life, on January 15, 1949. Together, they built a life including 5 children. They were farmers together, raising poultry and planting and sowing grain throughout their lives. Mrs. Loockerman was also caregiver to her husband for almost 20 years before his passing. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she will be genuinely missed by everyone who was blessed to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Loockerman was preceded in death by her beloved husband, L. William Loockerman; her son, David William Loockerman; and her daughter, Kathy Louise Loockerman. She is survived by her son, Earl Loockerman and his wife, Wanda of Bridgeville, DE; her daughters: Carol Johnson of Bridgeville, DE, and Robin Wroten and her husband, Randy, of Greenwood, DE; her 11 grandchildren; and her 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 20, 2017, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at Bridgeville, Cemetery, Market & Laws Streets, Bridgeville, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Loockerman's memory to Greenwood United Methodist Church, 101 West Market Street, Greenwood, DE 19950, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2 Mill Road, Suite 106, Wilmington, DE 19806.
