Dorothy Lee Brandau's Obituary
Dorothy L. Brandau age 88, of Lewes,DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Delaware Hospice Center after a short fight with lung cancer. She was born in Etowah,TN, on Wednesday, August 30, 1922, to Scott and Marie Cannon. Dorothy met her husband, Arthur "Otts" Brandau while he was playing football at the University of Tennessee.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and business woman. She helped to run the family clothing business, "The Oxford Men's Shop" of Towson, MD.
After retiring to Lewes, DE in 2001, from Towson, MD, she was active with the Lewes Presbyterian Church and also enjoyed playing cards, knitting and was a lifelong avid bowler.
She is survived by her son; John A. Brandau and his wife Lee of Rehoboth Beach, DE and one grandson; Brett Brandau and his wife Jennifer of Wilmington, DE.
Friends may call of Friday, June 17, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Moreland Memorial Park, 2901 Taylor Avenue, Parkville, MD, 21234.
The family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to: Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958 or Tunnell Cancer Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
