Called and said they would not be able to attend the funeral because of the weather but their thoughts and prayers are with Doris's family.
I know Doris is peaceful now being with her husband and sons. We all miss her and hope the best for the family.
So sorry to have another good person like Mommom go to heaven. You will be missed by all. I want to thank you again for being in my life and a best friend to my mom. My heart goes out to the family.
I am so very sad to hear about Doris's passing. For 40 years, no trip to Rehoboth or Dewey was ever complete without stopping by The Captains's Table to visit Doris and get a hug. I will miss her dearly. The Delaware beach area has lost a legend and one of the sweet ladies ever.
Doris, known to myself and many others, as Mommom, was a true angel on earth. She has humbly gone to be with her late husband and soul mate, Flemuel Lynch, along with her two sons, Alfred, “Buddy” Lynch and Allan Lynch. I am fully aware of how blessed I was to call this woman my great-grandmother. Her kindness, empathy for others, witty remarks, honesty, and spunk, will always be remembered. Up until the month before her passing, she remembered the names, faces, and details of lives, of those she loved so dearly. She would reminisce about her beloved customers, about baking pies in the kitchen, and the changes she’d witnessed along the way. Doris was an amazing woman. May her passing remind us all of our purpose on this earth, to fill our plates with love, and to dish out the best of ourselves to others. Mommom, you are forever in our hearts. We love you!!
Doris was a very special person loved by all her customers. She took pride in her restaurant (THE CAPTIAN's TABLE), she loved to cook and coming out of the kitchen to talk to her customers. She Will be Missed by all! I express my Deepest sympathy to her Large Family that spans 4 Generations.
Deepest sympathy to all of the family. Doris was one of the kindest, most loving people I have ever know. She and her beautiful smile will be greatly missed by many.
We are saddened by the news of Doris' passing. She will be kept alive in memories of time spent with her at the Captain's Table and how welcoming she was to us every time we were there. God and Heaven have welcomed a gracious lady! May her family be blessed in their sorrow by knowing how much joy she brought to so many people during her time here on earth.
