Doris E. Cyr's Obituary
Doris E. (Langevin) Cyr, 73 ,of Lewes, DE passed away Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. She was born October 7, 1934, in Biddeford, ME, daughter of the late George A. and Martha L. (Gleason) Langevin.
Mrs. Cyr spent the early part of her life in Maine. She was a graduate of Biddeford High School, Classs of 1952. In 1960, Doris and her husband relocated the family to Rockville, MD where they lived until 1995 when they moved to the beach. Doris entered the work force as a telephone operator and left to get married and raise her children. She returned to the work force and bacame an assistant manager for W. Bell and Company for about fifteen years. She ultimately retired as an office manager from Elm Services in Rockville, MD. Mrs. Cyr was a member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jean Paul Cyr (2007) and her son Jay Peter Cyr and his wife Jeannie. She is survived by two sons, James Michael Cyr and his wife Jennelle of Urbana, MD and Dennis Padraic Cyr and his wife Kathleen of Beltsville, MD; three daughters, Shawn Elizabeth Riggin and her husband Stephen of Columbia, MD, Anne Moira Sanders and her husband Michael of Georgetown, DE and Deirdre Eileen Cyr of Ashburn, VA; 17 grandchildren and their spouses, Joseph Sanders and his wife Jessica, Courtney Sanders, Sarah Sanders, Matthew Sanders, Emily Sanders, Stephen Paul Riggin, Brittany Riggin, Jason Riggin, Stephanie Perini, J. P. Cyr, Caitie Cyr, Mary Beth Cyr, Kayla Cyr, Amanda Cyr, Olivia Isner, Savannah Isner, Erica Isner; one great-grandson, Jonathan Sanders; and her sister Irene Daly of Mattapoiset, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mark J. Connelly on Monday, September 22, 11:00 A.M., at St. Jude The Apostle Church, north of Five Points on DE Route 1, Lewes. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriot's Way, Millsboro, DE. Friends may call on Sunday, September 21, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, DE 19963.
