When Doris moved to Briarcliff Manor, New York, she gained an immediate and loyal following of friends! Her beauty (both inside & outside), her faith, and her compassion
were all evident to those who were lucky enough to know her. Doris' presence in the
community became ubiquitous; tennis at Club Fit and church at St.Theresa's and
frequently an amazing dinner at her gorgeous home became the norm. Doris shared
her heart and home with so many people. She prayed for whatever you were praying
for & she would most definitely give you the shirt off of her back. If I live to one hundred
years of age, I will never ever meet anyone as kind and generous as Doris Delaney!
God Bless Doris and the entire family. She was an outstanding & amazing person
and by now she has already joined the choir in heaven and has made dozens of people
happy. Doris, you are missed here on Earth. I am blessed to have been your friend. God Bless!

Doris was a faith filled member of Hope and Healing Charismatic Prayer Group. With her belief in the healing power of God, she put the cancer at bay for quite a while. She was an inspiration to the rest of us and I trust she is interceding for all of us now.

My condolences to Doris' family. I only knew her a little and only briefly, from singing in St Edmond's choir several years ago. She did have a lovely voice and a sense of fun. We bonded over the fact that we were originally from NYC. Rest in peace.

So many wonderful memories we have of Doris and her beautiful voice. She was an amazing song leader in church but above all she was a wonderful and loving person.
Doris was always smiling and looked terrific, happy and thoughtful. We still have the holy water she and Brian brought back from Lourdes and her thoughtfulness in so many ways still abounds.

Doris and I shared some experiences together. Some great, some not so good. We both loved to sing and loved to do the 5:15 Masses on Saturday night; we both had lousy spines, hips, and things like that. We would always try to make each other laugh through it all. A few years ago we were out to dinner with Doris and Brian. I admired an aqua shawl she was wearing and asked her where she got it. I told her I was looking for one that color for my daughter's up-coming wedding. She took it off and gave it to me. That was Doris -- so generous, so sweet. We will all miss her. I wish all the sweet memories you have of Doris will bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. Sending prayers to all the family.
