Doris Ann Daisey's Obituary
Doris Ann (Morley) Daisey, 74, of Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on August 11, 1951, in Wilmington, Delaware, Doris was the daughter of the late Glenn Morley Sr. and Mildred Walls Morley. She grew up in Wilmington and graduated from McKean High School with the Class of 1969.
After graduating, Doris began a career in retail, where her dedication, leadership, and strong work ethic led her to a career lasting more than 30 years in retail management. While she took great pride in her career, her greatest calling was caring for her family.
Doris shared 58 wonderful years with her beloved husband, James Daisey. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support as they raised their family. Known by many names such as Mom, Mommom, Dotsy, and Aunt Dot Dot, she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. Doris never hesitated to open her heart and her home to anyone in need. Whether family by blood or by choice, everyone who crossed her path knew they had a place with her.
She loved being surrounded by people, especially her family. She enjoyed countless cups of tea with her best friends who became family. Doris found great joy in serving her community. She devoted countless hours volunteering with her church and other organizations such as the PTA, Girl Scouts, Alzheimer’s Association, Easterseals, and many others. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a devoted member of Long Neck Methodist Church, where she found fellowship, purpose, and lasting friendships.
Above all else, Doris cherished her family. They were the center of her world, and she fiercely loved and protected them. She will be remembered for her loving and nurturing spirit, her strength, determination, and unwavering devotion. She was wonderfully bossy when she needed to be, strong-willed, sometimes stubborn, and always someone you could count on. Her selflessness, generosity, and unconditional love have left an enduring legacy that will continue through the generations she helped shape.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, James Daisey; her daughters, Melissa Baker (Kevin), Jan Nepi (Joseph), Margie Daisey (David), and Nicole Daisey; her grandchildren, Kristin Barlow (Chas), Karlee DeLong (Justin), Amanda Hannah (Jeremy), Karson Barenholtz (Daniel), Joseph Nepi Jr. (Jacklynn), Brady Baker (Sarah), Marshal Baker, Nathan Daisey, Kylee Holt-Daisey, and Sully Holt; seven cherished great-grandchildren, with two more expected soon; her brother, Glenn Morley Jr. (Sue); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, her fur babies Daisy and Buttercup, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her love and kindness.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn Morley Sr. and Mildred Walls Morley, and her sister, Jane Hudson.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Doris's legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her compassion, generosity, faith, and steadfast love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A visitation will be held on August 4th at Long Neck Methodist Church, 32051 Longneck Road; Millsboro, DE 19966, from 9-11 AM with a Memorial service beginning at 11 AM.
