Donovan Appleman's Obituary
Donovan Scott Appleman of Lewes, DE, died April 14 after a prolonged illness at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. He was 37.
Donovan was born and raised in Altoona, PA. While residing in PA, he was employed at Corning Glass. He moved to DE in 1999, working for the Rehoboth Police Dept. and for Trinity Trucking. He settled in Lewes, DE, working as a waiter at a number of local establishments. In 2003, he began his technology career at Wilmington College, where he most recently worked as the Site Technology Coordinator at the Rehoboth and Georgetown Campuses. He was also nearing completion of a degree in general studies.
Donovan had an evolving passion for photography, raised tropical fish, and had a fond love for his chihuahuas, Adam, Hercules, and Evy.
Donovan was preceded in death by his mother, Dawna Jean Appleman. He is survived by his partner, Dennis Huffman of Lewes, DE; his sister, Suzanne; aunts and uncles, Deb & Bob Brua, Jim Appleman, Vicky & Denny Appleman, and Vicky & Ken Moudy; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial observance will commence at 7:30 PM on Wed. April 19, 2006 at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may begin calling at 6PM. . In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at Wilmington College (ATTN Donovan Appleman Memorial Fund, 320 DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720).
