Donald Nolan Travis' Obituary
Donald Nolan Travis, age 91, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on February 19, 1934, Mr. Travis was the son of the late James and Ruth (Melvin) Travis. A proud graduate of Rehoboth High School, he remained a lifelong resident of the area he loved so dearly.
Mr. Travis was married to the love of his life, Jeannette Travis (née McCarty), with whom he shared an extraordinary 72-year marriage. Their bond was an inspiring example of unwavering devotion and enduring partnership, and together they built a beautiful family and life filled with laughter, resilience, and love.
A hard-working and driven individual, Mr. Travis was the owner and operator of West Bay Park, a well-known mobile home community. Through his leadership and dedication, West Bay Park became not just a business, but a welcoming community for countless families over the years.
Outside of his work, Mr. Travis led a life full of adventure and joy. He had a deep love for golf, cherished time spent traveling, and found great peace sailing the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Winters were often enjoyed in the warmth of Florida, where he and Jeannette created many cherished memories.
Mr. Travis is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannette; his children, Valerie Fitzgerald, Don Travis, Jr., Randy Travis (Carol), Diane Frabizzio (Gene), and Chris Travis (Gina); twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister, Pat Burton (Bill).
In addition to his parents, Mr. Travis was preceded in death by his brother, James Travis, Jr.
Mr. Travis will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, located in Lewes, DE 19958. Friends and family are invited to visit beginning at 2:00 PM to share memories and pay their respects.
