I simply cannot believe Donald has passed. For years Donald and I used to have weekly get togethers to discuss all manner of things - anyone who knew him knows how whip smart he was, and how he had an extraordinary ability to think outside the box. We lost touch many years ago but I have very strong fond memories of Donald. This is unreal, that he's now gone. So sad . . .

I am not sure who will even see this after almost a year, but I just learned about this, yesterday. I am fairly certain this is the same person who attended my elementary and high schools in Woodlawn, MD. Donald was one of the smartest and most gifted students I ever knew.
At some point in 2018, I connected with another student who knew him back then, and she mentioned Donald's web site. I checked it out, and began emailing him with memories from those days, so long ago. Donald responded, and we exchanged delightful emails of reminiscence for the better part of a year. We also discussed children's books. Up until that point, I had never really known him. The last time I heard from Donald was in a brief email he sent dated March, 2019, with a promise to write more at a later date. Then, I suppose, life got in the way for both of us; and unfortunately, we lost touch.
Oddly enough, I connected with another mutual friend and classmate this past summer, and I wrote to Donald sometime in late September or early October to mention this to him. Our mutual friend remembered Donald fondly. I thought it was very odd that I never received a response from Donald, and now I understand why.
I am very shocked and saddened to learn of Donald's passing. He was a very unique and kind person. I also knew his sister, Debbie from high school. She might not remember that I borrowed a dress from her, back in the day.
Please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences to Donald's family and friends. I believe they meant the world to him.

My uncle Donald was a very gifted and unique individual. He definitely broke the mold. I have very fond memories of playing Jakari where you have the joy of whacking a ball on a string in the great outdoors. I remember one time I hit the ball so hard it broke the string, went flying 100s of feet and caused a significant delay in the game as Donald repaired it.
Uncle Donald went to many concerts with my family. Most were classical guitarists or symphonies but on one family trip with Grandad Ben and Grandmom Jane along with the 7 of us in the Bossom family suburban we went to Hershey Park. I was 12 and thrilled to go to an amusement park that had the aroma of melted chocolate but when we pulled up there was a huge sign that said Bob Dylan was playing a concert there that night. Donald was delighted to have me accompany him and it was my first real concert. A few days later a cassette tape came in the mail that had each of the songs Dylan played in the exact order. I listened to it until cassettes became obsolete.
I miss you very much Uncle Donald.
"Don was a Rennaisance man and one of the best guitarists I ever met. He loved music and contributed so much to the study and enjoyment of the discipline. He played in libraries, nursing homes and even on street corners! His websites are scholarly and legendary. He will be sorely missed among classical guitar geeks, especially in the online Delcamp chatroom. May there be guitar jam sessions in Heaven!

I only just learned of Don's passing last week through a mutual friend of ours and I send my sincerest condolences to Don's family and his friends. Don was my boyfriend for a while and good friend for a long time and though we lost touch a year or two ago, I have many fond memories of his kindness, his ready laugh and his genuine quirkiness. There will never be another like him. ( Hope you'll meet up with John L and George H up there, Don). RIP ............

I played scrabble with Don weekly for many years. I learned so much from him and in spite of the fact that he was so much better than I was, he never made me feel insecure about it. He was a truly nice and kind person and I miss him a lot. My sincere sympathies to his family,
