Donald Gene Miller's Obituary
Donald G. Miller, age 78 of Seaford, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 23, 2017 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, MD. He was born on January 21, 1939 in Lewes, DE, son of the late Stanley J. Miller and Marie Waller Perrone.
After graduating from Lewes High School, Mr. Miller honorably served his country in the United States Army. Following his service, he attended the University of Florida. He then returned to Delaware and started working for DuPont. Never one to sit idle, he also started his own company providing drafting, monogramming, and silk screening services. Mr. Miller enjoyed painting, gardening, making wine, carpentry, and spending time with his family. There wasn't anything he couldn't do if he set his mind to it. His love of flying afforded his family numerous adventures and endless memories up and down the east coast. Mr. Miller was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Patricia; his parents; his step mother, Evelyn Miller; and his brother, Sonny Miller. He is survived by his daughter, Dawn N. Stanley of Pocomoke City, MD; his two granddaughters to whom he was like a father: Kallia R. Stanley and Paige N. Stanley, both of Pocomoke City, MD; and his step brother, Jack Coverdale and his wife Darlene of Florida. Mr. Miller loved all animals and never met one who didn't love him. He is also survived by his best friends, Corky and Lilly and two cats, Whiskey and Sherry whom he rescued.
