Irish Eyes will never be the same without Don. We only have known Don for less than 2 years but feel like it was so much longer. We are lucky to have known him. Now heaven has an angel. Thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time. Barbara & Gordon
Don (I.T. DBJ) was my roommate and a best friend in Boone, NC. We visited him in Dewey Beach in 1990 when we picked him up for a trip to NYC (the weekend we were all Donald B. Johnson) Although I haven't seen him since the night of this picture in Wilmington at my wedding after-party, he has stayed in my heart ever since. Several years later I met someone in Charleston, SC, who had worked with Don at the Rusty Rudder. We reminisced about our shared friend. My condolences to all of you in his life today who are losing his wonderful soul ❤️
Will miss seeing him during Happy Hour at Irish Eyes. Don was a great bartenders.

The sweetest, kindest, funniest gentleman. I loved seeing him every day at Irish Eyes. He will always be missed and never forgotten.
You never saw Don without a smile. He lit up any room with his smile. Always remembered his customers whether he saw you one time or five hundred times! He truly will be missed by everyone who had the chance to cross his path.
Every Thursday night for the last 10 years we would go to Irish Eyes on Thursday night. Don always greeted us with a big smile and 2 beers. We loved seeing him. Always gave us a great "goody bag" on the holidays. We will miss him and his quick sense of humor.
I can’t even remember if I wrote anything before and I guess it really doesn’t matter. Don was “one” of the reasons I would go to Irish Eyes. I always enjoyed seeing him and it would be the first place my brother-in-law would want to go when he was visiting…”Let’s go see Don; I have Hershey bars for him!” Rest in peace Don, and we will always be raising a glass to you!
I am so heartbroken about Don….he was a great and caring human being. He was one of my nephews and so proud to say that. He had such a sweet smile, always kind to everyone. RIP ..I love and miss you terribly. Always enjoyed having him visit, but not often enough but I understand, he had a busy life. Until we meet again, Love Aunt Jan..

When I worked with Don, I always tried to get under his skin by telling patrons that he was my Dad. What a great mentor.
