Donald Rodney Evans' Obituary
Donald Rodney Evans, III age 58, of Lewes, DE. passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at the Veterans Administration Hosptial in Elsmere, DE. He was born on September 2, 1948 in Lewes to Donald R. Evans, Jr. of Lewes and the late Grace (Carpenter) Evans .
Mr. Evans lived his entire life in the Lewes area. He was a local waterman and contractor. He enjoyed fishing and hunting . Mr. Evans belonged to the VFW Post 7447, Rehoboth, American Legion Post #17, Lewes, Elks Lodge, Rt. 23, Lewes and the Moose Lodge, Rt. 9, Lewes. Mr. Evans served 4 years in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam war.
In addition to his father he is survived by his two sons, Donald Rodney Evans, IV and Robert Nathaniel Evans both of Lewes; a granddaughter, Natalie Nicole Evans of Lewes; his fiance, Jean Dannreuther of Lewes, DE; a sister, Valerie Anne Canaglia and her husband Joseph; and two step-sisters, Suzanne Stenberg and her husband Holger and Jamie Russo & her husband Mark.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where the family will receive friends from 1-to 3:00 PM Sunday, November 19, 2006. Funeral Services will following with Mike Cunningham officating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Legion, Post #17, American Legion Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
