Dominick L. Baray, Jr.'s Obituary
FLORIST NOTE: PLEASE HAVE ALL FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS DELIVERED TO PARSELL FUNERAL HOMES, LEWES, BY THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9, BY 3:00 PM.
Dominick L. Baray, Jr., 87, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully at his home on September 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 20, 1938, in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Dominick G. Baray, Sr. and Carmela (DiNisio) Baray.
A proud and devoted man, Dominick served his country in the Army National Guard for nine years. He went on to build a long and respected career at Chrysler, where he worked as a line repairman for 32 years before his retirement.
Dominick found his greatest joy in life near the water. He was an avid fisherman, crabber, and clam digger who cherished any opportunity to be out boating. A skilled handyman, he loved building things—often for his family and friends—and sometimes found just as much satisfaction in tearing things down. Whether working on a project or casting a line, Dominick lived life with purpose and pride.
A strong Italian patriarch, he was a man of unwavering faith, deep family values, and a love for good food shared around the table. He believed in tradition and took great pride in passing down his beliefs and customs to the next generation.
Dominick was a dedicated member of Amvets Post 2 in Millsboro and a faithful parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes.
In addition to his parents, Dominick was preceded in death by his sister. He is survived by his beloved wife and the love of his life, Sarah Baray; his daughter, Annette Lasala (Rocco); his son, Dominick Baray III; his sister, Donna Persoleo; his brother, Joseph Baray; and his cherished 15 grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy.
Dominick’s presence, guidance, and love will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow services at Henlopen Memorial Park in Milton, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate.
