Dominic DiCostanzo's Obituary
Dominic DiCostanzo, 87, of Milton, DE, passed away peacefully at home on March 14, 2025. He was born on April 11, 1937, in Manhattan, NY, to Nicholas and Lucy (Fattizi) DiCostanzo.
Retired Nassau County police officer, as a firearms instructor then a physical education instructor, with the police academy. An avid runner, Dominic participated in numerous marathons, including the Boston and New York City Marathons, as well as events across the globe in places such as Romania and Dubai. He earned many medals throughout his running career and was proud to be a part of the Police Winter and Summer Games.
Outside of his law enforcement career, Dominic enjoyed playing golf and was even the President of the Long Island Track Club. For the past 13 years, he lived in Milton, DE, where he was surrounded by family and friends.
Dominic was married to his beloved wife, Jane, for 66 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Mark. Dominic is survived by his loving wife, Jane; sons, Greg and Donald (Jodi); siblings, Josephine, Raye, Francis, John, and Lucy; seven grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, followed by funeral services at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dominic's memory to the local humane society.
