Dolores J. Zakarian's Obituary
Dolores J. Zakarian, age 80, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. She was born Thursday, June 07, 1934 in Rochester, NY, daughter of the late Dana and Agnes (Geier) Crader.
Mrs. Zakarian was the family matriarch with strong family values who took great pride in caring for others, especially the needs of her children. Never one to put herself first, she was always available for guidance and support. Mrs. Zakarian was an extraordinary seamstress, sharing her talents with family and friends. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Edmond Catholic Church, who professed her faith by living a life of compassion and love. Mrs. Zakarian was a fountain of knowledge often referred to as a "walking library." Her husband, Gar and other family and friends always knew who to go to for the correct answer.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Zakarian was preceded in death by her son, Garabed "Gary" Zakarian in June of 2013 and a granddaughter, little angel, Shelby Lynn. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Garabed "Gar" V. Zakarian; two daughters, Karen L. Zakarian and her husband Jesse Burns of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Margaret Hayden and her husband David of Wilmington, DE; one son, Daniel Zakarian of Houston, TX; daughter in-law Elaine Zakarian; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Hayden; Phillip Zakarian and his wife Shelby; Daniel Zakarian; Arielle Zakarian; 3 step-grandchildren, Jason, Brian and Margaret Burns; 2 sisters, Patricia Pierce of Newark, DE and Joan Neville and her husband Tom, of Anderson, SC, extended family members Lena Masulli; JoAnn, Brian and Becca Taylor, along with many special nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 5-7PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE. A Rosary Recitation Service will be celebrated at 6:45 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11 AM at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE, where friends may call at 10AM. Interment will be private.
