Dewey J. Bratton's Obituary
Dewey J. Bratton, age 69, of Lewes, DE passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016, at his home in Lewes, DE. He was born Sunday, December 08, 1946 in New York, NY, son of the late Woodrow and Agnes Bratton.
After graduating from Raritan High School in Hazlet, NJ, Mr. Bratton enlisted in the United States Navy in 1964. He was a Navy Seabee and a proud Vietnam Veteran. He married the love of his life, Karen, on December 24, 1977 in Middletown, NJ, where for 30 years they raised their family. Mr. Bratton was a member of International Alliance of Theatrical Employees, Local #1. He worked as a stage hand in New York City for over 30 years, contributing his talents to such institutions as Radio City Music Hall. He was a part of the original production of "Annie", on Broadway, "Sesame Street", "One Life to Live", and countless other productions. Mr. Bratton was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bratton was preceded in death by his brother, Stuart Purcell.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Karen Bratton, of Lewes, DE; his son, Dewey J. Bratton, of Lewes, DE; his daughter, Kerry Kurdes and her husband, Larry, of Lewes, DE; and his grandchildren: James, Lilah, and Julietta Kurdes, all of Lewes, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. Bratton's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Delaware Veterans Boulevard, Milford, DE 19963.
