Dennis Webster's Obituary
C. Dennis Webster, age 87, of Rehoboth Beach, DE died Thursday, October 6, 2005, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes, DE. Mr. Webster was born in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late William and Anastasia (Whalen) Webster.
He had been employed as an operations manager and was in public relations for a trucking company. After retiring from the trucking industry, he moved with his wife from Baltimore, MD to Delaware in 1983. He was a member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church where he served as a lector, eucharist minister and had been the head usher for eight years. Mr. Webster had served as a volunteer at Beebe Medical Center, and had been chosen the hospital Volunteer of the Year in 1995. That same year he also was presented with the honor of Person of the Year by the Delaware Coast Press. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion Post 28, and sang in the local Mens Chorus directed by Bill Earl. Mr. Webster was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years LaRue (VanTassell) Webster; a daughter, Anastasia L. Webster of Rehoboth Beach, DE; Two Sons: Dennis Webster & wife Jackie and Darryl C. Webster, all of Baltimore, MD; a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, Route 1 at Five Points, Lewes, DE at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 14, 2005 . Visitation hours will be from 3:00 P.M.to 5:00 P.M. on Thursday October 13, 2005 at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery - Pilottown Road in Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The St. Jude the Apostle Building Fund, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958 or to Delaware Hospice, 600 N. DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.
