Debra Ann MacMichael's Obituary
Debra "Deby" Ann MacMichael passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, in Lewes, Delaware.
Born to the late James and Linda MacMichael, Deby was a lifelong resident of Mullica Hill, New Jersey, before relocating to Dagsboro, Delaware, where she made her home with her beloved fiancé, Joseph Everingham Sr.
Deby was a graduate of Clearview Regional High School class of 1980, And later went on to receive her Associates Degree in Business Management from Gloucester County Community College and spent much of her professional career as a Billing clerk. She was known for her dedication, kindness, and strong work ethic.
She found great joy in traveling, especially alongside her mother. Together they created treasured memories exploring Ireland, Italy, Alaska, and enjoying many Caribbean cruises. Deby also loved spending time on the water, where she enjoyed fishing and boating with Joe and their friends, making many happy memories together. She was also a talented crafter who loved creating beautiful handmade items, and she was an avid reader who never missed an opportunity to lose herself in a good book.
More than anything, Deby will be remembered for her extraordinary heart. She was kind, compassionate, and endlessly generous, always putting others before herself. Whether caring for family members or offering a helping hand to friends and neighbors, Deby's warmth and selflessness touched countless lives. Her love was unconditional, and her gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Deby is lovingly survived by her fiancé, Joseph Everingham Sr.; his mother, Shirley Lucas Everingham; her sister, Kathy Shute (Tom); her aunt, Jane Nelson (Bill); her uncle, John McMichael (Patti); her nephew, James R. MacMichael III; and her cherished companions, her dog, Mickey, and her cat, Kiki.
In addition to her parents, James and Linda MacMichael, Deby was preceded in death by her brother, James R. MacMichael Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in support of organ donation and transplant programs, helping donors and patients in need.
